Wednesday June 18th 2014 - Race Night!

What another fantastic night of racing at Abbotsford BMX!  We had 4 more NEW full track riders... sorry I didn’t get you with your 1st race trophies – but proud parents and friends, feel free to post them right up on the facebook page for all to see!  There was tough competition on all fronts, including the half track! WE also had a MAIN again in our 7 Novice category with Gryphin Smid taking the win and Tyson Schellenberg in close 2nd! Rumour has it that Gryphin may be moving up next week? J The 6 novice class may be smaller but the competition was just as fierce as Sydney McIntosh took the win in the first round, Jordan Pare took the win in the 2nd round and then Justin Trefry  took it in the 3rd.... when the dust settled, it was GIRL power all the way with Sydney taking the overall win for the night! Team Paul was out in full force tonight in the older guys cruiser class... (even with their own reserved parking spots)  and I was pleasantly surprised that Brad Snider decided to keep on the track through the whole race ... lol... the were two races going on in that class during the last round with Paul Knight and Brad Snider head to head for 1st and 2nd  and farther back on the track, but non the less impressive, was the race for 3rd and 4th between Kevin Zilcosky and Dean Chalmers-Owega!  Be sure to check out the full results on the results tab!

Congrats to our Rider Draw Winners: Justin Trefry, Dean Chalmers-Owega and Natasha Zilcosky!

Our 50/50 Winner – Lish Lackovic,  wants to thank the 50/50 girls for their hard work – Jordan and Keanna  and their helpers!

And other than thanking all the volunteers that put racing together and made it fun, we have to give props (Bragging Rights) to Colby Baxter for earning tonights win on the Le Mans race... once again the most popular race of the night!

First Wednesday Night Race in the Books - June 4th

What a fantastic night for our first Wednesday night race of the summer season!  The new re-worked track is getting dialed in by the riders, and the weather is co-operating on hardening it up!

Big shout out to Darien and especially Dave for the extra grooming to get the track race ready - you guys rock! We also have to send out a Big Thanks to all the other volunteers who helped with the work parties that made it all happen, including the dirt donation and last minute delivery by Star Trucking, donation by Valley Gravel and all the equipment from our community supporters including The Cat Rental Store and Westerra Equipment, and we have to give it up for our AWESOME track builder, Adam Muys!

We had a great turn out... even getting a MAIN for the 7 Novice Class! Woot! Woot! - Congrats to Gryphin Smid for taking the Win in the MAIN! There were many new riders, and it was great to see some familiar ones back out at Abby, including both Teegan and Trinity Hall, who did double duty running their 20" and Cruisers tonight! There definately was some fantastic racing and close calls at the line, and some interesting track exits..(just ask Brad and of course, the end of the race night brought out the masses for Abbotsford's Le Mans race, and tonight, bragging right go to Zach Frier!  Zipping around the track the fastest - Brag away Zach!

Tonight's Rider Draw Winners were :

Nikalis O'Connor, Lucas Zilcosky and Lucas Wakefield!

50/50 Winner - Cary Landers!

Hope to see you all either at the BC Cup races at North Shore BMX this weekend, or Gate Practice and Club Coaching on Monday!
