Well indoor is back and we have updated the schedule...please take note of the following:

BC Cup #1 & #2 – Saturday Feb 4th & Sunday Feb 5th...
** Note**EARLIER SATURDAY START TIMES DUE TO BC CUP RACES!!!

Pit Bike and Pro-Am race date changes for last two races and the FINALS!

Be sure to not miss out on anything – read the new schedule carefully!!!!

Also :

Next Saturday – January 28th – Come one, come all with your sellable BMX stuff.... Indoor BMX Swap – 4pm onward...
remember only $7 to practice or $12 to race... Free to watch! (unless we rope you in to volunteer!)

Wow! Another week of Indoor racing is in the books! What a week full of Thrills, Spills and Chills! – If you Missed it, we ran our 1st 4X race last Tuesday and what a great turn out we had! It was some fantastic racing and there appears to be some great competition brewing for this much anticipated series!

On Saturday we put on (along with our regular district racing) our 2nd race in the much anticipated Pro-AM Racing Series! With the kids racing 13 & Under toughing it out – Alex Tougas, riding for Yess Bikes, dominated with another Victory! But all the participants walked away with their “Mystery” prize just for participating! In the 14 & Over Class... Jamie Palmer, who also rides for Yess Bikes, sailed away with his 2nd victory of the series and bragging rights once again! It’ll be interesting to see what happens as the series continues to unfold!

Sunday brought on another district BMX race along with our 2nd race in the Pit Bike Championship Series! – Now, you thing racing regular BMX and Cruisers are great to watch... be sure to check out these races! With the racers required to be on bikes with 16” or smaller wheels... it makes for a lot of pedaling to get around the track! With Championship Jerseys on the line for the end of the series.... the $2 cost of entry makes it all the sweeter... so if you have a pit bike – be sure to bring it out to next Sunday’s race and give it a try.. we have classes for all ages...

So, that wraps it up... watch for race results and series info to be posted soon... and be sure to come support indoor this last week of this build... then we’ll be tearing the track down until Jan 16th!

Another year of Outdoor racing has come to a close!

Abbotsford BMX is looking for some people to join our Executive

Abbotsford BMX will be hosting their Annual General Meeting on October 24, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Community Services Room, at the Super Store located on Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. We need as many members present as possible. The meeting should not take long as it is just a review of our year and the election of the executive. The more people that step forward to express interest in joining the executive before this meeting the faster it will go. If you are interest feel free to speak with anyone on the Executive. Please consider joining our Executive so we can continue our racing programs.

Thanks to all Volunteers, Riders, Spectators and Officials that helped make this past weekend’s Western National #9 and Finals such a great success! We couldn’t have done it without you!
What a THRILL to see the Elite and Jr. Male classes run their races off the SX Start Hill!!!! Everyone was awesome.... With Tory winning Saturday, Mischa winning Sunday and Jamie Palmer dominating by winning the Junior Men category on both days!
A Big shout out to all the Alberta riders who made the trek to our track... and especially to those guys who raced off the SX Hill with just a couple days of practice!
Way to Go Riders!!!!

REMINDER: Ridge Meadows BMX is hosting the BMX BC Championship Race this Saturday. It is open to all licensed BMX riders in BC who are BC Residents. ABA License holders are also welcome to race, but a day waiver is required.

Just to clarify some of the CCA/UCI Rules that will be enforced:

All riders are required to wear a full face helmet, gloves, jersey with long sleeves and long pants (made from tear resistant material- warm up/track/sweat pants are NOT allowed).

Plate Colors:

Challenge Females – Blue

Challenge Males – Yellow

Cruisers – Red

Juniors – Black

Elites – White

Come on out and race and earn the Title... BC BMX Champion!

Big Shout out to all the Riders, Spectators, Officials and especially the Volunteers that made this past weekend's UCI races - BC Cup #3 & #4 such a great success!

The weather was fantastic and the racing was fast, and while we were all a bit disappointed that the Super-X Start Hill wasn't able to be used for racing, we were treated to a sneak peak of just how exciting it will be when a few riders tried it out on Friday during practice and Sunday after racing! Thanks again and see you Sunday for our next district race (weather permitting).

It's that time of year again. Time to tune up your bikes and get ready for racing. Our BMX Outdoor Season kicks off this Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m. with registration 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
There will be a work party at the track on Saturday, April 9 beginning at 11:00 a.m., so if you have any time, please come down and give us a hand.

We would like to welcome a new sponsor to our track, the Old Spaghetti Factory, a great place to get a meal before, or after a race.

Please take note that the outdoor schedule is now posted. Abbotsford BMX Outdoor begins Sunday, April 10, 2011 weather permitting.

We need Commissaires for the great sport of BMX. Being a Commissaire does have it's perks (get to know them and more). There will be a BMX 'C' level Commissaire course on Saturday, April 30 from 1 - 5 pm at the Cycling BC office. If anyone is interested, please contact Kevin McCuish at kevin@cyclingbc.net - Cost is $10. The course will run if he has more than 6 people RSVP. The course details are posted here.

Wow, it happened so fast!!! The Indoor Season is now over, thank you all for taking part. We had some great events: The 2010 BC CUP Finals, 2011 BC Cup races #1 and #2, The PRO AMs, Pitt Bike Racing, the just concluded CBA Western Series Races #1 & #2 and many great district races. Thanks to the Executive for all their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to the following in their events.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!!
This weekend, February 18 - 20, is the last weekend of Indoor Racing!!! Better get your ya yas out, because your gonna have to wait till outdoor season begins before you can race again. This weekend is also the CBA Western National Races #1 and #2 --- here's the info sheet.

Abbotsford BMX is calling ALL Riders!

With the CBA Western Nationals happening next weekend, now is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to a take a BMX camp with Nick Benetti -- click on the link for more info.

This Saturday is the Pro-Am Series Finals & Awards , then on Sunday the Pit Bike Series Finals & Awards.

We will also be hosting the first Dino Dash in the 2011 Season this Saturday Night! So come watch the Dinosaurs Roll! From the BMX BC Forum website: "Okay, its game on Saturday Feb. 12 as a part of the regular evenings race. Entry cost: $15.00 Once again, the rules will remain the same as last year-if you have any questions just ask. The only difference at this race will be only ABA'ers in the Dino Dash will be waived-if you're bringing the kids with only an ABA license, the additional insurance will be required for them-sorry! Pretty much if you're going to be 30 this year, you can race a 20 or 24" bike in this race. We'll be doing a CCA style transfer system, same as last year. This race will just be a one off race-the season won't be starting until spring, but if you're like me, its a great chance to dust off the bike (I haven't ridden since September!!) and go break a leg. See you all on Feb. 12! And a HUGE thank you to Steve Baxter and crew for making this work." Mark Krahn.

Alright, it's time to shake off the holiday rust and get back to BMXing!!! The second built will open today with practise beginning at 5:00 p.m., c heck out the schedule. A Huge Thank You to all the volunteers who showed up yesterday to help build the track. The 2011 BC BMX Cup Series kicks off on the weekend of January 29 & 30, so get some practise in and get a leg up on everyone else. Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to Velocity Cycles, in Langley, for their generous donation of a Micro Mini bike to the Abbotsford BMX Club.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Hope everyone received what they wanted over the holiday break. It's getting closer to the second build of indoor, so if you have any time on Monday, January 17 to come down and lend a hand, we would sure appreciate it.
